CUSTOM COLOR PROSTHETIC LENSES

Color lenses are often thought of as a cosmetic option to give us a different eye color than what we were born with. While that is certainly true and we offer that at ACLI, the use of color lenses expands beyond the traditional aesthetic uses. In certain cases of ocular trauma, these custom lenses can be designed to restore our patient’s original ocular appearance; this can significantly improve a person’s confidence after such a traumatic event. Custom color lenses can also improve visual function and reduce light sensitivity, especially in cases where the iris (colored part of the eye) is damaged. Custom lenses can also be designed with a certain color filter that can also be beneficial for some patients.
